'There's Light at the End of the Tunnel' Handmade Porcelain Sculpture
'There's Light at the End of the Tunnel' Handmade Porcelain Sculpture
This meaningful sea inspired, white porcelain sculpture is made using a found pebble and slip-casting method. Nestled inside a small yellow hand-built chair is surrounded by transparent glaze and splashes of sea blue glass. The interplay between the glaze and light generates beautiful reflections from two viewing points. Outside is unglazed with surface texture from the original pebble making it tactile to hold and explore. Looking through this piece suggests the title, ‘There’s Light at the End of the Tunnel’ an optimistic phrase, often associated with hope, transformation and a promising future. This piece could be a meaningful gift and keepsake, or a visual prompt to inspire yourself. The original stone has been returned to where I found it to continue its own journey.
